Environmental Learning Center
Art Series
Vero Beach, Florida - The Environmental Learning Center had three featured artists for the months of January and February. The show opened with a reception on Wednesday, January 4th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. The public was invited to meet the artists; Iris Peters, Gustof Miller, and Janvier Miller.
Artist Biographies:
Iris Peters artwork was displayed in the ELC’s Barrows Welcome Center Tidal Gallery. Iris moved to Florida from Baltimore and is inspired by the colors of the birds, flowers, and ocean here. Her medium is acrylics and she has recently developed a love for abstract pour art. Iris Peters is incorporating sea life in her newer work.
The Lagoon Room featured sculptures and paintings from Gustof Miller and paintings by Janvier Miller. Gus Miller grew up in New York and is the son of accomplished watercolor artist Howard Miller. After receiving his BFA and MFA from Syracuse University, he studied in Rome, Italy. Gus’s sculptures and paintings are based on the battered and marked surfaces of a city. His body of work is abstract and representational. Janvier Miller is also a Syracuse graduate and has selected nature-focused paintings for this show. Her subjects include; birds, horses, and beach scenes.
Iris Peters and the Miller’s art exhibits were displayed throughout the months of January and February.
