Artwork To Educate & Inspire
The ELC is committed to displaying artwork from a wide diversity of artists and artwork mediums that align with our mission to educate, inspire and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and their own well-being.
October & September Showcase
Though I began acrylic painting in Baltimore, it wasn't until I moved to Florida that a world of color, and what seems like an eternal abundance of bright and subtle shades in all kinds of sea creatures, Florida birdlife, and the ocean really piqued my expressions in my paintings. Though realistically as possible, my art has exaggerated colors. Color to me, means happy, calm, joyful, and I strive to convey that feeling. Sometimes I like to add dimension by using shells, sand, and sea glass in my pictures.
Alma is truly a River Girl, and enjoys her time as such, exploring the waters of Florida by kayak. The sights and spectacles she beholds serve as common themes for her artworks, and you will often notice native Florida birds, sea turtles, manatees, and dolphins populate her wide range of media, from fractal burning and wood engraving (her specialty) to detailed paintings and even printed apparel. There is no limit to her inspiration, for as far as the earth’s ecosystem spans, as does Alma’s knack for capturing the most beautiful aspects of our world.
Fascinated by the amazing trees in Florida, Banyan, Strangler Figs and Mangroves, I like to record trees that have survived thru the decades.
Maureen is primarily a self-taught artist with her own creativity and vision. Working in many different mediums her favorite is drawing in pen and ink and graphite. With this medium she has won many awards in Florida, New Jersey and Ohio.
Born and raised on the East Coast of Florida, I have always had a passion for creating what I see in nature on paper or canvas. Art is my passion, but not my career. I enjoy drawing and sketching every free moment I can get.
I use many different mediums, such as pencil, colored pencil, ink and occasionally a paint. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process.
