Dock Appeal

The 365-foot-long dock is a landmark visible from Live Oak Drive and from the Wabasso Bridge. For 35 years this dock has been a community location for fishing and it also provides safe access to the ELC Pontoon Boat. The structure is showing its age and it is necessary to replace it. One of ELC’s premier offerings is the guided pontoon eco-tours. ELC naturalist guides provide educational information about the history of our area and the birds, fish, and wildlife in the lagoon. Over 4000 guests enjoy this educational experience annually.
The ELC dock rebuild will provide a more attractive, safe, and efficient facility to support the educational and environmental mission of the ELC. The building costs are estimated at $450,000. We have received $100,000 from a generous donor and also have been awarded a matching grant of $100,000 from the Florida Inland Navigation District for this project. An additional $100,000 has been pledged by another generous private donor as a match donation challenge. We have applied for an additional capital grant to make up the final balance and so we are asking you to rise to the challenge and help us raise $100,000 to maximize this generous match pledge and make our dock rebuild need a reality.
Please donate an amount that is in alignment with your ability and desire to help. Thank you for your investment in the ELC.
