In Memory of Douglas Moore Graybill

Doug Graybill ,83, of Indian River Shores died on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at his home in Palm Island Plantation which he shares with his beloved wife Lesia.  He was surrounded by their children and passed peacefully.

He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 18, 1941.  The family then moved to Lancaster, Pa where he spent his childhood years.  Doug was a graduate of The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Yale University.  From there his career took him to IBM for 30 years and later a consulting company he cofounded.

Throughout his life, Doug was fun loving, kind, and generous.  He loved the outdoors, all animals, and the water.  His thousands of pictures were reflective of this.  He was a strong supporter of helping to save the lagoon, the Indian River Land Trust, the Environmental Learning Center as well as Quail Charities.  He was an extraordinary husband, a devoted father, grandfather, and a loyal friend.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lesia.  His daughters, Susan Totten (Roby) of Wilton, Connecticut, Dawn Sirras (Chris) of Milton, Georgia, and son Steve (Samantha) of Wellington, Florida.  His five grandchildren, Ryan, Luke, Andrew, Max, and Kenley will have fond memories of horsing around with “Pops”.
