Experience the natural beauty and tranquility that comes from time spent paddling on the serene Indian River Lagoon. Join our expert guides, as you explore thriving ecosystems, diverse wildlife, and hidden mangrove tunnels! We provide everything you need for a memorable trip. All you need to bring is your sense of adventure.

Rentals available for kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards. Go solo or with a guide. Once you pick your date you have the option to arrange for a guide for an additional $100 (for 2 hours), or book one of our prescheduled guided group trips.

What you need to know

  • Please arrive 30 minutes early for gear orientation.
  • No refunds if canceled within 48 hours Before the 48-hour window: There is a $10 processing fee per person to cancel and $5 to change to a different day/time. Call 772-589-5050 for changes.
  • Space is limited. Reservations are required.
  • Tours are subject to cancellation for weather or not reaching a minimum of 6 passengers.
  • To make your trip more comfortable: Bring a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray.
  • Wearing closed-toe/heel shoes are highly suggested to protect from sharp oyster shells and other obstacles you may encounter.
  • No alcohol on the kayak or canoe. It is a BUI (boating under the influence) if your blood alcohol level is 0.08% or more.

Participants must:

  1. Be at least 8 years old
  2. Be at least 18 years old to rent a kayak on their own. Renters 16 and 17 years of age must be checked in by a legal guardian but do not have to be accompanied on the water. Anybody under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by a legal guardian.
  3. Weigh no more than 250-pounds.
  4. All guests MUST check-in with ELC staff at our Welcome Center at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure.
  5. Wear a personal flotation device (PFD – provided by ELC) if 14 years old or younger. Everybody must have a PFD on the boat with an emergency whistle attached to it.
  6. Have a cell phone with him/her to be able to contact us or to be contacted in case of an emergency.
  7. Be able to enter/exit a boat unassisted, which will require a moderate amount of upper and lower body strength.
  8. Be able to paddle a boat for length of time indicated for the trip. Some of the longer trips may require an extended amount of moderate physical exertion depending upon weather conditions.
