The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) will host a series of three to four beach clean-ups beginning in the Fall of 2020 as part of the NOAA Planet Stewards program.  Teens and other volunteers will weigh the debris that is collected, track the types of marine debris collected to add to NOAA’s database of types and locations or marine debris, and then use what is collected to create an artistic display for the Discovery Station.  The display will be designed and created by our GreenTeen!s and interns and, in addition to the artist display, will include information on sources and solutions to marine debris pollution. Additionally, the ELC GreenTeen!s will be working to design an advocacy program aimed at reducing the amount of single use plastics brought by our day camp program participants to the ELC campus.
