Forest Bathing is the practice of taking a leisurely, mindful visit to a forest or other natural setting for health benefits. The practice originated in Japan where it is called Shinrin-Yoku (森林浴). Join Sonya Louise for forest bathing on our lagoon island campus.

A unique opportunity awaits you right here at the ELC. Join Sonya Louise for an evening of Full Moon Forest Bathing. From 2016-2018, Sonya spent two years on the road full time visiting wild and untamed places; camping, hiking, and eating out of a picnic basket. The natural world became her university as she discovered deep wisdom in the simple acts of stillness, observation, and contemplation. Her time immersed in natural environments was deeply healing as well. Returning to the “real world”, she learned that science had a name for what she experienced. They called it Forest Bathing. The practice is proven by scientists to benefit physical as well as mental health.
