Were you intrigued by the story of Henry David Thoreau in Walden? Did you wonder what new insights and perspectives one might discover were they to live in the woods for two years, two months, and two days? Did you ever fancy yourself walking the woods with this man, seeing the forest through his eyes?

A unique opportunity awaits you right here at the ELC. Join Sonya Louise for an evening of Full Moon Forest Bathing. From 2016-2018, Sonya spent two years on the road full time visiting wild and untamed places; camping, hiking, and eating out of a picnic basket. The natural world became her university as she discovered deep wisdom in the simple acts of stillness, observation, and contemplation. Her time immersed in natural environments was deeply healing as well. Returning to the “real world”, she learned that science had a name for what she experienced. They called it Forest Bathing. The practice is proven by scientists to benefit physical as well as mental health. Its positive effects can last up to a month following each mindful excursion in the woods or other wild and natural setting: * Reduced Stress & Cortisol Levels * Boosted Immune System Functioning * Increased Vigor & Vitality * Improved Sleep * Enhanced Sense of Peace & Well-Being Continued, regular practice of Forest Bathing offers additional personal and spiritual benefits: * Deeper and Clearer Intuition * Improved Flow of Eros/Life Energy * Deepening of Friendships * Increased Connection to the Earth * Enhanced Sense of Happiness & Joy Full Moon Forest Bathing not only offers these potential benefits; you also have a unique opportunity to see the ELC campus at night. It’s a whole new world when the sun goes down and Nature is gently graced by the glow of the moon. Sonya leads with guided activities and mindful meditations to help you open your senses, awaken your personal medicine, hone your intuition and experience the earth in a deeper way.
