ELC provides its students with hands-on learning opportunities exploring the Indian River Lagoon ecosystems. Utilizing its 64-acres of native habitat featuring outdoor playscapes, an exploration pond, canoe dock, teaching dock, that lowers down into the water for seine netting, a 16 passenger pontoon boat and boat dock, as well as an air-conditioned Living Lagoon with aquariums, a touch tank, and exhibits. Little Wonders is an engaging outdoor nature enrichment and early literacy program for children 18 months to 5 years old.
Outdoor exposure benefits humans in so many ways, yet, we do not spend nearly enough time outside. This is especially true for our little ones who desperately need meaningful opportunities for nature play and exploration.
