Lagoon Island Adventure Camp

DETAILS

Join outdoor adventures, nature-based activities, and summer fun on the ELC's 64-acre island lagoon campus! Our camps are kept small for a safe and individualized experience.  Only 10 campers per group with one ELC camp instructor.

Your child will enjoy activities that focus on our natural world, science, art, math, and more as we blend fun and learning each day.  Our hands-on, feet wet adventures for campers include:

  • Pontoon ride to Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge and a spoil island for a splash

  • Dip-netting in the ELC pond

  • Canoeing on the Indian River Lagoon

  • Exploring our touch tank, aquariums, and exhibits in the Discovery Station

  • Discovering the plants and animals that live in our Florida ecosystem

  • and much more!

Our trained staff of ELC educators ensures that your child will be safe and cared for while making friends and connecting to nature.

Time: 8:30 am to 1 pm

Ages: 5 to 12 (entering 1st grade through 6th grade)

COVID POLICIES

Due to the concerns of COVID-19, we are continuing to implement extra precautions to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our campers.  Each child is required to wear a mask and provide their own water, lunch, and snacks for the day.  There will be no sharing of food or food provided by the ELC.  Parents are required to wear a mask during the pick-up and drop-off process.

Please discuss proper hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, and the importance of physical distancing with your child before the beginning of camp each week. We also ask parents/guardians to assess the health of your child daily and to please notify us immediately if your child has any of the following symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea).

For more questions contact education@discoverelc.org. More information will be sent prior to the start of camp each week.
