Wild Wednesdays – Every Wednesday 1PM – 3PM
Looking for a fun and flexible activity for your homeschool family? The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) has launched Wild Wednesdays, a perfect opportunity for kids to get outside, explore, and enjoy unstructured play in nature.
Happening every Wednesday from 1–3 PM at the F.U.N. Zone Nature Playscape (Families Unplugged in Nature), this is designed with homeschool families in mind. It’s a chance for kids (and parents!) to unplug, connect with others, and make the most of ELC’s beautiful outdoor spaces.
Think of the ELC as an Extension of Your Backyard!
The best part about Wild Wednesdays is the freedom! Your kids can:
-
- Play their way: Bring balls, kites, or even organize a friendly race.
- Get creative: Put on a show on the outdoor stage or create your own games.
- Relax and unwind: Spread out on a blanket or picnic under the trees.
Whether they’re balancing on logs, building with natural materials, or just soaking in the fresh air, this is all about kids being kids in a safe, natural environment.
Bring What You Need
- Snacks and drinks: Pack a picnic and enjoy lunch while the kids play.
- Games or gear: Bring along favorite activities like cornhole or horseshoes to share with friends.
- Relaxation essentials: Chairs, blankets, or whatever helps you make the most of your time outdoors.
Admission is Simple
Wild Wednesdays are free with membership or regular ELC admission. It’s an easy, affordable way to add some variety to your homeschooling week.
So grab your picnic basket, your sense of adventure, and come join us at ELC for Wild Wednesdays. Let’s make nature your classroom and the ELC your backyard!
