YOUNG EXPLORERS

Field Trips for Preschool through 2nd Grade

Select 1 of 3 topics as the theme for an excursion led by one of our educators:

  1. ALL THINGS NATURE: A shell, a flower, a crab, a seed, the sun, you and me. All parts of nature. This program explores nature all around us and exposes children to what lives in our backyards. We'll get children excited about discovering nature and how to protect it. Listen to stories and play at our exploration tables.

  2. CURIOUS CRITTERS: This is no fish tale! Learn what makes a fish a fish during enriching nature story time. We'll check out some of the animals from our fresh water pond without getting our feet wet. (PLEASE NOTE: due to the amount of staff prep time and clean up, there is an additional fee of $75 for this program)

  3. AQUATIC ADVENTURE: Learn what lives in a pond by wading in our freshwater pond with dip nets searching for fish, shrimp, and other aquatic critters. We promise to get your students' shoes wet...after all, it's the best way to get up close and personal with pond creatures. (Not offered in January or February.)

Program Length: 2 hours
Schedule Limitation: Able to accommodate 2 classes in one day (back-to-back)
Minimum Age: 4
Group Size: 8 minimum; 22 maximum

Expand your experience! Bring your lunches to eat the ELC's picnic area with a beautiful view of our pond!
